Happy Birthday Men!
Well, a Birthday slipped past without notice, And I wanted to a least give a belated towards it’s passing…. The Men’s Forum Turned 2 years old last month!! For those of you new to OH, It used to be- AMOS (The Association for Morbid Obesity Support) and there was no separate forum for the men. Back when I first started visiting, there were a handful of guys in a sea of estrogen tip-toeing through the posts of- "My BF/Hubby is an AZZ!" "My PMS is Worse!" "What type of Bra do you use?" etc…. But on June 22nd of ’05, the Men’s Forum was created as a test to see if it was at all valuable…. I think it has been. Many who started here have moved on, and some still drop in. Some have gone on to start successful sites of their own. This is not a "Good Ole Days" post, Cause I think the "Good Ole Days" actually begin tomorrow…. For those of you headed into surgery soon, I know they do. Just pausing today - to "pour a 40 oz on the curb for absent homies." Welcome new Guys, and know that the whole place is still pretty new. Still not the fastest moving, most populated Board around, but seems to have some genuine content… It is what you make it. My first post ever on the Men’s Forum-
"Post Date 6/23/05 Hey Tek It'll be some time before this site has traffic........ Sort of a "Move on off the Road!" side street for discussions. See you round the boards- Best Wishes- Dx "Capricious; Impulsive, Semi-Predictable
Dx,
First of all, thanks for starting the Men's Forum. It really has been great support and you have been here for us consistently the entire time.
I really thought, though that the forum had been around longer than that. Hell, I've been here since November 2005. I had no idea the board was that young when I arrived.
(I'm not about to proclaim myself a "founding father" - or any other kind of father - except "sugar daddy", though!) Hehe...
Anyway, thanks again!
Kind Regards,
Dave
Dave, I’m not in any way responsible for "starting" the Men’s Board. Just one of the many *****sponded "YES!" when administrators Asked on the Main Board if it "might be" a good idea. Bo McCoy (along with the urging of John Ruston) is probably single-handedly responsible for it’s existence. This "little experiment" seems to have succeeded. You have certainly been here long enough to count as- Founding Father… Well Maybe "Developer Daddy!" and to think, your first post here was a response to an exercise post..... "I'm new to the list… Just wondering how soon I can do any/ all of the above after a lap RNY?" I guess the answer was "LOTS & SOON ENOUGH!"
Who’d have thought…… Thanks for all you add to the mix! Best Wishes- Dx

Hey No, Good to hear you’re through your PS and on your way to normal. Yeah, that tight skin feels better and more natural each week. It is surprisingly slow going though. I had some swelling continue on for right at 6 months. The worst of it was gone at 2 months But each afternoon, there would still be "Some." Sort of in that afternoon time when a fever can climb if you’re sick. I don’t remember when I started being able to just toss and turn in the bed Without feeling like I was pulling something….But apparently That happened along the way too around the 5th to 6th month… Hope you’re done with surgeons for a while and on to just "Livin’ Life!" Best Wishes- Dx
