Leftovers!
I just wanted to point out that before the surgery, I NEVER had leftovers of any sort. Now,the fridge is stuffed with tons of all kinds of leftovers. It's a whole new experience.
It does remind me of times in elementary school where they made us clean our trays of food. I remember being turned back to the table to finish my food. Can you believe it? Sending a clearly obese child back to eat more! Crazy. Well, at least I'm reversing those attitudes now.
I have to label and date by leftovers to make sure I get to them all. I'm often throwing out leftover sides (starches, usually) because I'd rather eat protein. And last week I threw out some pulled pork BBQ because it had gone too long. Potatoes and peas I can live with, but BBQ? I felt like a sinner.
Joined a gym two weeks ago, and so far we (a few guys at work and I) go several days a week during lunch instead of eating out, which has helped a lot. Finally the leftovers are getting down to a low enough level that I might be able to coo****asionally. It's been over three months since I cooked anything anyone would call a meal. Though today, I'm having friends over and grilling out.
Have a good 4th.
My wife and I eat out more because I think is cheaper. Yesterday she wanted to go to Cracker Barrel. We both had one of their salads. I had a grilled chicken salad. The chicken was very tender.
I have at least half of it with me today for lunch. I just use the dressing on the side so it doesn't get soggy. We both ate for $14.85 and I lunch for today. So that was three meals for $15.00. When we go out to eat I always have to get a box.
