Hey guys, Happy 4th of July (when it gets here) I was wondering, I am 7 weeks post opt today and down 60 pds and for the first time have heart burn. Its like a minor burning sensation in my throat. I did have to re-visit my dinner due to it getting stuck and probably eating to quick as I am still learning how to adjust. Any ideas? My doc has me on prevacid 30 MG for 3 months post opt to I guess help heal the pouch. I haven't taken it in about a week since I ran out but got it filled tonight when I went out to get some papaya enzymes to help digestion. What do you guy think? Just heart burn from agreevating the pouch? I have described my pouch as one of my ex girlfriends. MOODY and it has good days and it has bad days. HA....=)....I won't post that on the main board since its a lost of women there...=) Again, HAPPY 4th AND GOD BLESS AMERICA.

The Prevacid helps to prevent ulcers in your pouch. I took it for six months per docs orders. I would make sure not to run out again. Having not taken it in a week probably caused your heartburn.  Down 60!

I also took it for several weeks after surery. I would make sure that I had it from now on. If I remember right I was still on soft or pureed foods at the point where you are at. Be sure to follow your surgeons instructions. pan head

I only had to take Prilosec-OTC for the first month after surgery but started having heartburn at about 3 months post-op.  I have to take Prevacid now.  Make sure to keep some on hand.  .
