Hey Russ got to admit I do know who Fergie is. I listen to a top forty station at work and I do like alot of todays music. Some of the younger guys I ride with are amazed when I pull up on my geezer glide with the radio cranked up with a current band playing. I guess if you haven't heard of Fergie then you wouldn't know Hootie and the Blowfish or Nickleback.  My music of choice is jazz or the blues, but I do like alot of different types of music. I can thank a band teacher I had in junior high for that. He tried to get us to listen to all kinds of music and appreciate if it was done well or not no matter if it was something we would normally listen to or not. I find I tend to listen to the music first and it takes a while before I pay attention to the words.  My daughter is 24 and when she goes for a ride with me we enjoy the same music. My wife can't stand it though, but she does like jazz so we can find common ground. My wife seems to like rap. That is one thing I can't stand very much of. When my kids were at home that was one thing I would not listen to at all. I guess I am mellowing out in my old age. I'm 49. Yeah I know that is young. pan head

Hey Russ, another thing I get a chuckle out of is how some new artists "recycle" old songs. I work at my second job with a bunch of 18-22 year old girls, and they were listening to a song on one of their phones, I recognized part of it as a song from Supertramp, I think the group was Gym Class Heroes, but can't remember the song. Anyway, the chorus comes up "Take a look at my girlfriend, she's the only one I got" or something like that. So I say, you girls like 80's music? They look at me with disdain and disgust, and say absolutely NOT! Old peoples music is lame! I went out to my car ang got the "Breakfast in America" CD and popped it on. So they say "hey, they stole the song from the gym class heroes!" Okay, so this is the next generation of people to take care of me when I am old and crapping myself? I should just kill myself now and get it over with.... Not really, but I get a huge chuckle out of this generations inability to recognize where they came from and acknowledging history, I guess they will be doomed to repeat it.  DISCO RULES!

Now thats funny!  I too have been in those types of situations.   Ok, what gym are you going to, so that after surgery (July 17th.) I can brush up on the new music era before i start working out. Mike
