us guys are few and far between anyway when it comes to WLS... then when you start talking about the lesser performed surgeries (like VSG and DS) then our numbers get even fewer... though both VSG and DS are becoming more popular and accepted as the mostly positive word spreads about their successes.
That all said, feel free to ask here... though there may not be many VSG-only guys around, there are at least a few DS guys that pop in here from time to time.... and our stomachs are the same as yours (though the bougie size may vary from patient to patient), so if it's a concern with procedure issues you're having, there's a chance that we (DSers) may have gone through it too... and then of course there's the general male-specific topics related to WLS.
What I've found works well.... I use my procedure specific forum to talk about DS issues... then I come here to talk guy stuff.
Good luck
Hi RoyL
There are a few VSG ers here. I'm one. I had the VSG last October. What were you wanting to know? The basics for me are that I chose the VSG because it was a less invasive surgery than most others. I was in the hospital overnight and recovered quickly. I've lost about 80 of the 100 lbs that I targeted so far. No complications for me. Very glad I did it. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'd be happy to let you know my experiences.
