Thanks,  I just had a bit of breakfast, blood sugar is hanging around 270, still too high, but better than last night that topped off at 500 before falling.

Thanks for your prayers, I'll call her Monday.  I just saw her Wednesday of last week, she put me on new medicine.  I'm changing my diet again - no more carbs, I think the pizza put me up.

Sugar is the enemy! I feel so much better having eliminated as much of it as I can from my diet. My prayers are with you. Hang in there. JP

Thanks JP, If I make it to the surgery, I'm going to stay the course and not even test the refined sugary and fatty carbs again - no way no how!  I have been to hell and it's walls are lined with sugar, not fire.

"I have been to hell and it's walls are lined with sugar, not fire." That's the quote of the day for me. I plan on stealing that line and using it in the future. Hang in there. JP

Suger is indeed the enemy, JP. Prior to WLS and changing my diet, my blood sugar would occasionally pop 400 especially is I didn't take my diabetes pills and would load up on donuts. After changing my diet, I no longer take any diabetes meds (or any meds for that matter) and my blood sugar averages right at 100 prior to a meal and 130 or so after eating.  It's pretty amazing the positive impact of healthy eating and exercise on the body. No more diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, swollen joints and other various ailments. My energy level is sky high and I feel 30 again. WLS, nutrition and exercise - AWESOME!! Boner

Russ,  I believe it was the Walmart Pepperoni Pizza slice (XL) I had last night that kicked it up.  It wasn't that good....

Hey Bob glad to hear that it is leveling off.  Going to give you a little kidk in the ass though. You said it may have been the pizza. You also said that when you have the surgery you will walk the straight and narrow to paraphrase.  The best thing I did before surgery was to have to do the pre-cert diet and the surgeon put me on a low fat diet. The low fat diet shrank my liver and it only took him 45 min. to due my surgery. It also got me in the right frame of mind about making good choices. I did not really eat the small amount that was on the diet, but I ate the right foods. I started making good choices of what I ate and it helped carry over after I had the surgery.  pan head
