Suger is indeed the enemy, JP. Prior to WLS and changing my diet, my blood sugar would occasionally pop 400 especially is I didn't take my diabetes pills and would load up on donuts. After changing my diet, I no longer take any diabetes meds (or any meds for that matter) and my blood sugar averages right at 100 prior to a meal and 130 or so after eating. It's pretty amazing the positive impact of healthy eating and exercise on the body. No more diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, swollen joints and other various ailments. My energy level is sky high and I feel 30 again. WLS, nutrition and exercise - AWESOME!! Boner

Hey Bob glad to hear that it is leveling off. Going to give you a little kidk in the ass though. You said it may have been the pizza. You also said that when you have the surgery you will walk the straight and narrow to paraphrase. The best thing I did before surgery was to have to do the pre-cert diet and the surgeon put me on a low fat diet. The low fat diet shrank my liver and it only took him 45 min. to due my surgery. It also got me in the right frame of mind about making good choices. I did not really eat the small amount that was on the diet, but I ate the right foods. I started making good choices of what I ate and it helped carry over after I had the surgery. pan head
