Saturday Night, Blood sugar is 440

I've never had 440 blood sugar before, but my skin is crawling, feet are hurting, eyes can't focus, and I really don't know what to do.  Should I go to bed, should I go to the ER, what, any advice?? Bob M.

Retest, if it's still over 400, call your doctor's main line and see if he has an emergency paging service. If not, yes, I'd consider the ER.

Thanks for the responses, My BSugar bounced from 300 to 421 and then down a little, this morning after a 5 hour sleep it's still 321, scary, but I have another day to worry. Bob.

With those symptoms, go to the ER .. and NOW, because  you could be heading for DKA.   And DKA is BAD. If it was just high blood glucose, I'd say to eat some protien and drink plenty of water, but with symptoms like that, that indicates that you're going into DKA.

Probably close to DKA, my doctors are watching me close.  I have 321 BSugar this morning, still too damn high!

Thanks Dave for the prayers.  BSugar is still to high and not stable.  I've got to make it to surgery to get rid of this crap.

Russ,  My bsugar is 287 at 8:00 A.M., still too high for me but nothing like it was last night.  I slept a good 5 hours before being woke up by my 7 year old wanting some lovin'.  I want to be around for her and her sister for many years, and pray I can survive. Avandia doesn't do it anymore, the doctor put me on some high priced pills, Junuvia or something like that and Metaformin together, so far it's a crap shoot. We've gotten 7" of rain over the past two days and it's raining like cats and dogs now, about 65 degrees.

OK Super Bob -  I read your post at about 4 AM as I could not sleep - nothing related to the surgery, just couldn't sleep.  When I read it I got on my knees and went to Dad for you.  Remember you are special in His eyes.  He has a plan for your life.   He knows the desires of your heart and, per the word, He will give you the desires of your heart.  I know the end looks far far away.  Keep ur head up and your kness bent (so to say) and you will be there for your kids.  I know I had issues b4 my surgery and this journey.  I thank God I never had high bsugar issues.  But I had high high blood pressure.  Remember as hard as it is sometimes to put your faith in God, not doc's. Continue to pray that God gives the Doc's the wisdom to handle their little angel in the way that is needed to be. I will bring ur name up at church this AM for prayer - the devil is lier!!!!
