Fellas,
Last winter I slip on some plastic deck board coated with ice and did the one two split and counted myself lucking when my right knee hit and broke one of the plastic boards. The pain was throbbing of course and then gradually went away, well here in the last 3 weeks I've had some shooting pain issues on that knee.
My question is should I have it xrayed or should I merely count it to being still bruised and with my impending weight loss it will get better.
I think it was around February when I fell.
Thanks, BobM.
Hey Bob,
I'd say go get it Xrayed...there is nothing worse then joint pain....and from experience I've learned that it can go from bad to WORSE very quickly. I had this pinched nerve in my neck that I ignored forever....it went from bad to INCREDIBLE PAIN almost overnight. To the point that I drove myself to the emergency room, and even with 2 shots of demerol and 1000 mg of motrin, and some other pain med, I was still in pain. Fortunately, after they released me, I drove myself to my chiropractor (lol on 2 shots of demerol...it's only by God's grace that I'm alive) and he was able to adjust it out. The meds had made me so relaxed that everything popped into place.

Scottie, I believe you are right. I would rather take care of it now than to be exercising in a couple of months and blow my knew because of an old injury I ignored! Peace, Bob
you're not having pain from feb. if the pain went away and just came back. It could just be the ol "weather knee" I have one that tells me of any impending pressure changes in tha tmosphere, It could just be weight induce pain. It could be nothing. But this why we pat ridiculous insurance premiums, so we can use it. GET R DUN
I've been going for aquatic exercise at a gym that has an aquatic rehab facility. I've been using one of the rehab pools for the last 6 months and have seen many patients who had old injuries that just started to hurt years later. So, the pain you are feeling now can be from the Feb incident. Also, it may recur even after you lose your weight. Note that there are many thinner people with joint pain. Get whatever treatment you can. Some of the possible treatments are meds, chiropatric, and physical therapy with or without aquatherapy.
