I have been lurking here for a while and had RNY last month. You guys are great and was one of the reasons why I decided to go for it. With that said. How long did it take you guys to begin eating without discomfort. At the present, I am am eating two tablespoons of anything and I am stuffed; Sometimes I even feel like I over do it and throw up with nothing but saliva or foamies coming out... Will this get better? Will I be able to eat more than two bites... I have lost about 40 lbs (Including pre op diet).

Welcome to the locker room! and congratulations on your succesful surgery...for me it took about seven weeks for my stomach to calm down when I noticed a huge difference in how well things sat. At about eleven weeks I noticed that I was fitting a lot more into my pouch which now has me a little bit worried, but I know my current plateua (2 weeks) is just my body's reaction to dropping 13 lbs in just two weeks prior to the beginning of this one. In the meantime, I would recommend the softer and simpler the better - it may not seem like it, but you are still healing so keep it simple and high in protein...hope this helps

Hello & welcome, Rest assured, things will get better. Your pouch will eventually settle down (right now it is puffy & irritated--sort of like we were prior to surgery ). Eat modestly now; chew well; stick to soft foods; don't drink for about 30 minutes prior to eating and hold off drinking for about an hour after. I know, that makes getting all your water in difficult, but it does help. 'Course you'll need to be sipping (not "drinking") all the rest of the time. But, hey, it's well worth it and really, truly, honestly, fer-sure does get better. Relax and enjoy the trip--it's a joy.

Biggz, I’m gonna ‘bow out’ on an answer for this one.. Very A-Typically beginning  for starting out. BUT- I did what to drop in to say- Welcome to the Men’s Forum! Surgery just last Month? It gets SO MUCH Easier than what you are experiencing now. Use these first months to establish new habits And The following years will be easy… Congratulations on your 40!!! Don’t be a Stranger!
