If we're treading on thin ice we might as well dance.--Jesse Winchester
Hi Tim,
Glad you like the board. This is really the only place that I post (when I actually do post).
I'm getting to the point where I'm wondering if I'm much help at all. I'm about 14 months out and a past yo-yo dieter, extreme exercise (no plateus) so I'm kind of forgetting that I used to be MO and what it used to be like to be a pre-op.
But there are a lot of great guys out there with a lot of compassion and a wealth of knowledge.
Welcome,
Dave
Thanks, Joe!
That's good to hear. My job here in Japan can be both the best and the worst. I get a lot of attention and I have a lot of freedom, but most of the time I'm alone, so I tend to blurt out about what I'm doing. It's a form of necessary self-expression, I suppose.
Your posts are always very helpful, as well. Thanks for always being around.
When I think of swim training, sprints always come to mind, anyway. Where your daughter might be benefitting is if she is doing some cross-training outside of the water in an upright position and getting the heart-rate a little higher. Bike is good and run is better, if she doesn't get injured. I suggested the row machine, and that would indeed be best if she can do sprints on it. I suppose it's possible (?) I do know that rowing machines offer the highest heartrate of any form of exercise, because of the simultaneous full range in both upperbody and lower. And being a female, she may benefit even more from sprinting that involves both upper and lower body.
Talk to You Soon,
Dave

Tim,
Glad to have you here, and glad to have this place.
It is somewhat unique.
I do have another Board that I post to that is full of “old-azzes” who are dealing with 4 year+ issues.
The guys here are a fun bunch . Not easily offended,
and happy to share their experience or info.
Throw out a question and some one here is likely to have
Some similar story to swap.
Best Wishes-
Dx
