Wanna be loser
Hey guys, long time reader first time poster.
Everything has been going great. I have jumped every hoop that has come my way, I have done the 6 month weight loss stuff...everything. So it is all finally to insurance, and they say everything is in perfect order except for one thing. I have to prove I have been fat for the past 5 years, which to me is hilarious as I have been overweight since I was 8 years old.
Have any of you had this problem? The real issue is I am young (26) and just do not have any medical history to speak of. Maybe I just tell them that and hope for the best.
Thanks for any comments. You all are a real inspiration.

Hey blodnick,
For me all I had to provide was a piece of paper of all the diets I have tried, and weight loss and gained in the yo yo thing, pictures of me were and are very rare, I'm normally the guy behind the camera not in front of it, and that satisfied them. If your insurance is that petty, I'd ask my surgeon if he could help you out, i.e. letter, some kind of pressure.
Peace, BobM.
Bob is right. I had to do a table of diets with start weights and how much lost. I also did a lettr with a list timeline of my weight from high school with milestones that covered 2-3 years at a time; starting with football & wrestling, HS Grad, College Grad, wedding, etc (drivers license) and others thru present. Get your PCP or Surgeon to submit with their blessing and that ought do it.
Ridiculous isn't it? BUt I guess if you put on a bunch of weight over a 2 or 3 year tinme, then something else might be the problem. This WLS really does give those of us that have had a life-time of being the big guy a new lease on a thinner life; no hunger, different tastes and desires, faster fill-ups, different tolerances for junk food. Its really a new lease on life if it is not abused.
Worth writing a ridiculous letter.
Joe

Hey Nick!
Welcome to The Men’s Board!
Yeah, same here…
If you’ve been to the doc in the past 5 years, they will have weight on a chart somewhere.
Have your doc prepare a doc stating the numbers.
That’ll do it.
Some doc somewhere has your numbers….
Hope you get cleared soon without too much hassle.
And, I hope you find all of the info, experience
and support that this bunch has to offer!
Best Wishes-
Dx
