So, I've had a heart attack?!?!
So, as it turns out the Strep throat infection I posted about a few days ago caused a cross infection with my heart. I baffled the entire hospital staff. EKGs, ECHO cardiograms, CTs and finally a heart cath (angiogram) all showed that my heart was extremely healthy...non-damaged. My cardiologist even jokingly called my left aterial system the "erie canal of arteries". It was only in the bloodwork that they watched my Triponin climb, and finally fall just as happens with a heart attack. Luckilly, my spike was only to a 3.1, where gnarly heart attacks clock in around 40 or so.
The final result is this: I've had a chemical infarkt with zero mechanical result. (chemistry of a heart attack, no damage). The cardiologists were all completely baffled by me They said judging by the abnormal (yet beneficial) way my heart is supplied with blood, the way I've come down from 300 pounds with such a miniscule amount of plaque in my arteries; Blood pressure ranging between 95-103/60-65 during my entire stay (exept for when I hit 120/68 because I fired my first doctor who was a complete ****sucker), and the crazy way I have a 12% greater than average lung capacity. These things combined my doc said she'd be shocked to ever see me on her table again.
It kind of sucks that I have great heart-health, but I still have to tell people I've had a heart attack. Luckilly, the doctor cleared me to regain all physical activity within two weeks. I'm even ok to keep training for my 1/2 marathon in November, and the mile swim in August.
Funny how crap happens.
WOW! WTF? Glad you are doing okay now. Infections, especially Strep, and the massive inflammation that your body sends to try to fight them can play hell with your body, and with lab results. You are a medical mystery, and at least you left them scratching their heads this week. Hope all is back to normal with you soon.

Jake,
What are you doin’?
You’re supposed to feel better after a vacation!
Great to hear you checked out ok at the Med-Shop.
This WLS has amazed my cardiologist as well.
“Arterial Scrubber Blood!”
I went from Extremely dangerous high level of cholesterol
To (as my doc says) “just a little better than Perfect.”
Next time you get a sore throat, take care of it immediately!
Best Wishes-
