Question about Surgery
I attended the St. V's preop class about a week ago and this question came up. The St V. doctors ( Dr. C works mainly at St. V Carmel), according to the nurse who taught the class, just require the liquid diet the day before because the surgery is done on the stomach which clears in twenty to sixty minutes and the small intestine which clears in a matter of a "few" hours. The bowel we all prey is not involved in the surgery at all. As an engineer I agree with the other posters that maybe a little extra time and liquid will keep all the poles in the left half plane.
Good luck,
