Hi Guys, Just got back from the hospital......the bypass went great (only 64 minutes) and now I'm just trying to sip, walk and breath.  The bloating doesn't seem to be subsiding, but I figure that will only take time. SOOOOO good to be out of the hospital and back in my home........now comes the fun part! Bill

Glad to hear you're home from the hospital. Try not to get too frustrated with the liquids, pureed stuff. Once you're over this hump, then it's all downhill from there.  The more you move, the better you will feel.

Day of surgery weight  352
Current weight 250

Bill,  Great to here you made it! I remember ttat bloating all too well, it was only three months ago for me. My nutritionist let me take gas-x and it helped a little bit. It had to be chewable only. Maybe you can save a few bucks if you get it at this store offering a special discount to new post-ops like you: rivalry discount

Yahoo! I knew that you would get through it in great shape. Like others have said before, sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk.    The walking did me more good than anything else.  It really helps you pass the gas.  Be sure to get pleanty of rest too.  I would walk and then take a nap. Happy your home.  ps; did you have fun with the nurse's?

Welcome back. You're doing all the right things: sip, walk, breathe. And, hey, ain't it grand to know that the bloating really is bloating and temporary? Prior to my surgery, my friends and family grew suspicious of my claim that I was "just bloated" for the last 20 years! You're on your way. Take good care of your new self.

Welcome back, Bill. The next month to six weeks will be a learning experience. You'll drop a lot of weight quickly... but at a price. Don't worry you'll live through it, and be glad you did it . We all did. Keep us posted. DD
