Hey Missouri boy, there's a few of us around, but a rarity compared to other states. Ummm....Maysville Little League used to demolish us in Gallatin, I lived there when I was a kid. Oh well, howdy
I used the isopure fruit drinks after surgery. I had two a day which accounted for 40g protein and 40 0z H2o. It helped me get both. I would also bring an old crappy pair of shorts to wear after surgery. Although, the nurses would be impressed with what I was packing, I did not want to show everyone!
Lastly, good luck. Your life will change forever.

welcome aboard Steve! Hope and pray your surgery is uneventfuly!
shorts, nah, let 'er hang, give the nurses a gasp. I like those fancy gowns they give you. If you have a cute nurse, put it on backwards like a regular robe, then she'll have to 'adjust it for you.' A word of warning, if you still have your foley in - ignore the above because you don't want to 'cut wood' with the foley, can you say, Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh x 100. NotDave taught us not to do this with his stories.
Again, Good luck dude!

Steve,
Welcome to the Men's Board! This is a great resource. There is a lot of knowledge here.
Walk as often as you can and build your distance every day. It will make a big difference to you as you get stronger. You will be surprised with how much your energy will increase.
Also, make sure you get all of your water in every day.
The first few weeks suck. But you'll bounce back very quickly.
Good luck with your upcoming surgery.
Jim
