A not full feeling...not hunger pains

It scared me.  I am 8 months out.  I got that feeling yesterday for the first time since pre op.  It wasn't hunger, but it is that feeling that the pouch is empty and not full.  All you post op people remember that pre op feeling that if the stomach isn't full, your not content and not satisfied.  The RNY took that feeling away be yesterday it came back.  Again not a hunger feeling but more of the pouch is not full.  Anyone know what I'm talking about??  When my stomach was full there was contentment and peace.  When it was empty I was jittery and restlessness until it was full.   Thoughts?     Brian

Brian, I remember having that feeling too...for several months I had absolutely no hunger at all....no hunger related to not feeling full after a meal...no "head hunger" to speak of either.  Somewhere around the 10-12 month mark I did notice that I was able to consume more than I could before, but those days were hit and miss - some days I could eat more than others and that's when I was eating and drinking virtually the same amounts.  That really puzzled me because I've heard of folks measuring how much their pouch can hold (the cottage cheese test for example)...and for me it was truly different amounts from day to day so that test would be useless to me. Now 26 months post-op, I still find that the amount I can eat varies day to day.  Knowing that, I always keep liquids with me whether it's water, tea or coffee and constantly drink throughout the day.  Doing that I think helps keep things under control - a bit of a security blanket to ensure I don't give in to the temptation of not being able to get full as quickly as I'd like. Dx had a great post (re-post) about snacking yesterday that is good to refer to...provides some good ideas on ways to counteract hunger.  I know you said that it was not specifically hunger that you experienced, but the next step to the "not full" feeling is hunger.
