Still Alive!!!
Hey Guys! Sorry I haven't been around lately. Had to work through some Medical Problems. I had a pretty big scar at the end of April. Got up at 5am to use the bathroom, one minute I was taking care of busness, the next thing I knew I was on the floor. I woke up a few seconds later, with one of the worst pains in my lower back. When I hit the deck, I fell backwards and landed right on the edge of the bathtub. So I went to the emergency room, I thought I broke something in my back for sure, the Pain was a 15 on a 1-10 scale. The next thing I knew they ordered a MRI of my chest. Which I thought was weird, seeing it was my back that was killing me. What I didn't know was they wanted to findout why I Calapsed. Well they did. "Pulmonary Embolism" (Blood Clot) in my left Lung! I had a 4 day stay at the Hospital. I'm on a Blood thinner now, and everything seems to be going well.
But the weight seems to be coming off pretty steady. I feel awesome! Another reason I'm not around as often is because I'm not a Home Body anymore. I'm up early, and usually out for most of the day. I will try to poke my head in a little more often.
Hope this update finds you all Well. Talk soon.

Dam! I just posted on the thread below, and then saw this! OK, change of reply- Take care of yourself there!!! Hope you don’t have to stay on the bloodthinner (Lovenox?) too long. They can be a nuisance but mostly just the bruises if you’re doing the shots. I’m on Coumadin for a Heart Valve and it’s no biggie. If you’re doing the Lovenox / heparin shots—(some info) at- http://qwls.editme.com/Irone
Get better faster! Best Wishes- Dx
I had the Pulmonary Embolisum also. I was just sitting, talking to my best buddy and got a pain in my side, no big deal I thought, just hurt. A few hours later it was hard to breathe, I drove myself to the hospital and they took me straight in. This was my first clue as to how serious this was. I have been on cuminiden for the last 6 months and I am going to my GP today to see about getting off of it. The normal treatment is to take blood thinners for 6 months and if there are no further problems, take you off at the 6 month mark. it is no big deal really, and now that I have gotten used to taking it, I feel a little uncomfortable with going off of it. Sort of a safety net I guess. I had a "shower of clots" and the doc in the ER told me "you are lucky to be alive" that sure hit home. You are over the worst of it now, keep your blood levels of thinner up, stay checked out and you should be fine.
Blood clots are a PITA EH!
Get it hot, hit it HARD,
Hammering away the pounds!
Hammering away the pounds!
Glad you got diagnosised properly and the cure is working for you.
Glad also that not being a home body thing is happening for you. What a great problem to have.
I guess ITS WORKING for you. Its good to have you on the Post-op side and having success.
Keep up the good work and may the pounds keep dropping like a rocko for you!!!
