More FARTS

Hey guys, this was a fun one, and a bit obnoxious.  We were in Boston last week, going to a dinner party for work and three of us were catching a cab.  I found myself asking to sit in the middle, just because I could.  Still too tight for any human being but it was nice to have the option....of course I wish had the girls from those Wendy's commercials on either side The second one had to do with the weather this week.  It was over 90 here in Nashville and everyone was complaining how hot it was.  To me it felt about what 75 felt like last year when I was 118 pounds heavier.  Has anyone quantified sort of the how many pounds equals a difference in feel by degrees?  Meaning, do you feel the same at 75 degrees as someone 100lbs lighter feels at 90? The FART here was I was playing basketball with my son.  I was in a dark shirt and blue jeans and for 15 minutes of shooting around, my forehead got moist, but I wasn't sweating - even with the high humidity.  A year ago, I would have sweat more walking out to get the paper.  If I tried to play basketball dressed like this I would have been in flop sweat and my shirt and pants would have been soaked. Thanks for all your support guys.  You are a huge part of my success so far. Your insight, encouragement and accountabilily mean  the world to me.

Good Morning, When I saw you were from Nashville, that caught me by surprise!  I never even noticed Dr. Houston's name before.  This is probably the first time I have posted to the Mens forum, but it want be the last.  I have lurked around for the past few months and enjoyed reading everyones FARTS.  My wife says men are disgusting and this forum proves it! Anyway, it;s cool to see someone else from Nashville on the site.  Keep my wife in your prayers.  she had RNY on Monday, and has yet to come home.  It seems there is some bleeding they are concerned about.  As for me, I am in the 3rd month of my 6 month diet and hope to have surgery by the end of the year. Good to meet you and have a great weekend! Please keep up the FARTS, and I'll be smelling up the place later this year! Scott

Scott, Welcome to The Men’s Forum! Just judging from the ratio of "Number of Views" to actual replies, There’s a lot of ‘readers’ here. Hope you find all of the info, experience and support this bunch has to offer! Best Wishes- Dx

Greg Great FARTs.  Keep them coming - it is great to be a loser!! I know what you are talking about being in the middle and the sweating in the heat.  Last week I arrived at the Philly airport early and got on a stand by list for an earlier flight back to Charlotte - last seat left on the plane is a middle seat - I'll take it.  130 pounds ago I would only have gotten in an aisle.  The middle wasnt as bad as I imagined and I got home early in time to see my 4 year olds pre school graduation.  Also the heat - 2 days ago it was in the mid 90's here also and I needed to cut the grass, well when I got done (about 1.5 hours) I only had a small sweat stain on the back of my shirt - 130 pounds ago I would have been soaked from head to toe and having to take breaks to get it done.  The heat is much easier to tolerate. Have a good weekend! Chris

Greg, I’m still amazed at how much I "Don’t Sweat" now-a-days! The savings on the air-conditioning bill should cover the cost of the surgery in a few more years! J Great you got to play basketball with Jr. My son and I play a little just about every weekend now, and that’s a completely new part of both our lives. Keep it Up! Best Wishes- Dx

Thanks Dx.  Went to my first NASCAR race yesterday with my son here in Nashville.  Down on the track where it was over 100 it was pretty brutal, but in the stands at 90 it was quite comfortable.  Glad to see we have BBall with the sons in common as well. You know I calculated the Return on Investment of the surgery (discarding all the feel good aspects.  Just savings on insurance, prescriptions, food, etc.) and I estimated it at 3 years.  I had to pay cash for my RNY.  Once I factor in the increased productivity at work, I think the actual ROI will be about 1.5 years.  But the physical benefits make it worth it after about 3 months. Thanks

Greg, It must feel great.  I used to sweat like crazy.  But today, even it hot weather, I hardly break a sweat.  I have to really exert myself to perspire like I used to. Keep up the good work.!
Jim
