IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!

Hey Friends, Well, I guess I'm pretty much done losing weight. It sure has been a nice ride down from MT. FATTMORE. Life is so much better as a "normal" guy, by normal I mean "more average." With a BMI of 29.9, I'm still considered overweight, believe or not. I'm 6'3" tall, my current weight is 239. My goal was to reach my ideal weight of 217 lbs. I'm only 22 lbs. above that, I'm not complaining....REALLY! Started at 134 lbs. above my ideal weight. Life is pretty good! Still no Job! No?  NO!!! I'm still working, just not doing what I went to school for. Hence, still no job. I won't be happy until I utilize my degree(s) in some way, shape, or form. I haven't given up and I'm usually talking with a couple of different companies at any given time. My persistance WILL pay off sooner or later. I appreciate the guys that have been giving me much needed hope in this department....you know who you are!! Thanks! I'm trying to keep my options open and make myself as marketable as possible. I've applied to graduate school at the same college where I completed my bachelor's degree. The degree sought would be a Master's of Science in Occupational Safety and Health Management. I haven't taken the entrance exam yet, but will soon. The program is 99% online, that way if I relocate, I can still take the classes I need. Plus, the classes are taught by the exact same professors that I had for undergraduate classes. How cool is that?  I appreciate all you guys here on the men's board!  See ya, Ron

Hi Ronnie, just keep at it.  Sorry for the continued trials.  Is the government hiring in any of those positions?

The government? Hmmm! Maybe I should look into that.  Greg, you're always thinking outside the box! Thanks for the idea, Ron

My pleasure, Ronnie.  Sometimes you just need another perspective.  I figure something related to the FDA would be a big area of hiring right now with the risk to the food supply from the pet food and e.coli outbreaks.

You're going to get there, Runald. Keep the faith, brother. You know what they say, " that which doesn't kill us, only prolongs the inevitable"  Seriously, you're getting your life in order. It WILL pay dividends... SOON!  Don't forget to celebrate your success'es along the way. DD

OK, so we've advanced to our proper names now, huh David. I don't get the Ronald much. My late mother used to call me Ronald. I also have a good friend that I've known for 30+ years that calls me that when he wants to get under my skin. The only other person that uses that name is my wife when she is mad. I don't mind the name, everyone that knows me just calls me "Ron".  How's the ride treatin' ya! Has it been harder or easier than you thought? For me, it was harder at first, then got much easier as time passed. Now it's nothing but a thing. I had the surgery to get all the weight off though. I would like to lose the rest before it's too late.  See ya round, Ron

Did I get under your skin?  My best friend's name is Ron. He's actually, Ron, Jr. I call him Run-ald to get his goat... occasionally. We usually just call him "Meathead", after the "All in the family" character. ( He calls me Double D'Dickhead, so we're even.)   Anyway, All I'm trying to say is don't become so fixated on the goal, that you forget to enjoy the journey.  Hang in there.... Run-ald. DD

DD,  You're so right. It can be very depressing having a "am I there yet" mindset. Whether it's the WLS journey or whatever. Sometimes it just hard to sit back and appreciate what I've got accomplished so far.  I think the Run-ald is funny. I can even imagine you saying it. My nickname used to be "RED", because of my hair color, of course. That name died when I left high school though. Nobody has called me that since, and I haven't missed it a bit. The fam and I may be moving closer to your locale. (Colorado) We'll know more by the end of next month. Ron
