Hi, Dale - I started out at a high of 652 lbs.   I had to have a panniculectomy done - which they did on April 17th, 2006 and removed a 95 lb apron of fat. I had my RNY done on July 25th, 2006. Currently, I'm at 300 lbs - down just over 350 lbs in a year.   I've gone from an 80+ " waist to 50", and those are even loose. I've went from a 9x T-Shirt to a comfortable 3x, but I can fit into a skin-tight XL now. I've went to having my entire world being our apartment and the occasional doctor's visit, to being able to drive, walk, and travel with my wife.  I've even gone back to update my network certification so I can return to work soon.  It's doable, man - just keep the faith and keep moving forward.

Highest was 566. Close enough, eh? 184 down as of this morning. Not bad for less than 6 mos. post op.  It aint easy but it beats the **** out of the alternative.  Post-op compliance is NOT easy. Don't let anyone tell you differently. But it IS doable. My surgeon was AMAZED at the structure of my digestive system. He said my small intestine was more than 5 times the circumference of the average. It was no wonder I was able to consume 3000 - 5000 calories a day. Now? I average 500 - 1000 a day depending on what I eat.  Through 5 months, i've averaged more than a pound a day loss.  Trust me........ If I can do it, ANYONE can.

That is good stuff fellas.  Way to go.  Puts my *****ing into perspective a little.  Keep up the great work. Dale, Go for it man.  You have been at it a while and know the score.  Hopefully you will get some great support from your sisters and friends.  The journey can be tough at times but rewarding as hell.  Like I said, go for it and seize the opportunity.  Take no prisoners!!! My Highest weight in 2000 was 878 pounds, by 2004 I managed to get down to the upper 600 pound range on my own but then could not lose any more. When I started my WLS journey I had my first consult in 12/05, I was 631 pounds. One of pre requests for my insurance was a 6 month weight loss program .I managed to get down to 544 the day of my LAP/RNY surgery on 11/14/06 now I am down to 390 pounds that’s 154 pounds off in 6 months. I also went from a 9XL shirt to a 3XL. In the last few months my energy level has gone through the roof. I have been able to things that I haven’t been able to do for many years. When my WLS doctor told me he could see me getting down to 250 pounds I thought he was crazy. The last time I was at 250 pounds was probably my junior year of high school. I know now though that I can make it to 250 pounds. I know I will have to work hard to get there but it sure is well worth it. Like some of the others have said if I can do it so can you. Good luck

Damn Brothers, I am inspired.. I started at 460lbs about 16 months ago and today I am at 224lbs for a loss of 236lbs. You guys are doing really great. I know it has not been easy but its worth it in the long run.. One of our brothers said it best "nothing taste as great as what being thin feels like" or something like that. Good luck and keep up the good work, Tim

Hot Damn....
Some amazing stories here. These fellas all kick ass, don't they?

Anyway Dale,
I wasn't near 6 bills, but at 6'1" and pushing 420, I was a pretty big boy. 16 months later... clocking in at 188 lbs.

All the best to you. Keep on pushing... your patience will be rewarded.

Be Well,
A.J.

Similar to AJ,  I was in the 400+ catagory but nearing 8 months later I'm just over 260, a lose of 170 and counting. Check out my before picture on my profile to see the difference 6 months can make. You can do this, and its a world of difference in your life/energy/attitude with every step on the way down. Herb
