Anybody start at over 600 here?
Highest was 566. Close enough, eh? 184 down as of this morning. Not bad for less than 6 mos. post op. It aint easy but it beats the **** out of the alternative. Post-op compliance is NOT easy. Don't let anyone tell you differently. But it IS doable. My surgeon was AMAZED at the structure of my digestive system. He said my small intestine was more than 5 times the circumference of the average. It was no wonder I was able to consume 3000 - 5000 calories a day. Now? I average 500 - 1000 a day depending on what I eat. Through 5 months, i've averaged more than a pound a day loss. Trust me........ If I can do it, ANYONE can.
My Highest weight in 2000 was 878 pounds, by 2004 I managed to get down to the upper 600 pound range on my own but then could not lose any more. When I started my WLS journey I had my first consult in 12/05, I was 631 pounds. One of pre requests for my insurance was a 6 month weight loss program .I managed to get down to 544 the day of my LAP/RNY surgery on 11/14/06 now I am down to 390 pounds that’s 154 pounds off in 6 months. I also went from a 9XL shirt to a 3XL. In the last few months my energy level has gone through the roof. I have been able to things that I haven’t been able to do for many years. When my WLS doctor told me he could see me getting down to 250 pounds I thought he was crazy. The last time I was at 250 pounds was probably my junior year of high school. I know now though that I can make it to 250 pounds. I know I will have to work hard to get there but it sure is well worth it. Like some of the others have said if I can do it so can you. Good luck
