WARNING: Not for those with weak stomachs! Visual FART

I think this is the first time I have shared a FART in here, but here goes. While I have felt better and have gone down in clothing sizes I have had a lot of trouble seeing the difference. It has only been ten weeks, but I have lost 44 lbs. since surgery.  So today I took a picture and used Photoshop to line it up side by side with the picture I took when I got home from the hospital. For the first time I can actually VISUALIZE the progress. It looks the air is being let out of me. I'm really glad that I did this; it is very motivating.  If you are not taking photos of your prorgress already, try it out. By the way, just in case anyone is interested, I updated my profile with a blog entry today that covers what has been going on with me over the last month... ...by the way that DISGUSTINGLY HUGE hematoma on my stomach is just blood that got under the skin where the incision for the main port for my laproscopic surgery was. It didn't hurt at all, except to look at. It is all but gone now, the skin is just a little dark there now but only in the front, not along the side or around the back.

Michael, OUTSTANDING!  You are doing a great job!  I can relate to not realizing it myself.  I have lost 31lbs since my surgery but, I still feel the same.  I neglected to do a pre and post-op pic of myself; typical for a photographer.  But, I am taking progress pics now... they're just trapped in the realm of RAW format inside my DW's camera; again, typical for photographers.  Please keep posting your progress pics.  You are an encouragement to me and, I'm sure, many others! I've kinda been a little let down about not feeling the big difference after WLS.  Being a LapBander, I'm having a lot of trouble with feeling the band while eating.  The whole "Not Hungry, Not Full" concept escapes me still.  I've been very disappointed with my choice to have WLS.  But, recently, I have been getting a few comments about how I look a little smaller.  These comments are suprising considering I work in a very male, military environment.  I've had to knock 2 or 3 holes in my belts.  Sometimes my clothes fit better even without weight loss.  Now, I can reach deeper into my closet for more clothing selections.  Hopefully, I will soon be able to reach to my AF uniform so I can have "retirement" portraits made.  (At retirement, I was stretching the tensil strength of the button threads.)  I can tie my shoes without holding my breath.  I can play with my two year old, who is 41 years my junior... ON THE FLOOR.  Once I took some stock in these facts, the differences become more apparent and I feel better.  I guess I'm saying to take stock in the small victories even though you may not realize the obvious. Good stinky FART!  Own it, Brother! Jeff

Michael I did the same thing with diffierent poses.  I did it in front of a door in our house.  If you look at my profile you can see that when I began you could barely see the door.  Keep up the great work!!!! Terry G
