Well, I would just shake out the carbonation. In fact, I would drink a coke, so I am perhaps not the best one to ask....

One other thing...don't know if it is an old wifes tale or true.  I have heard the carbonation can rob your body of nutrients that RNYers need so much.  So be careful.  They last thing you need is malabsorbtion here.  You already have a built in problem there already...Brian

I of course bow here to those who know more about this topic... But for me, I just listened to my surgeon. No carbonation for 6 months, which I did except for one beer at a restaurant about a month after which led to the "foamies" and then one more beer on Xmas eve - and I hated the "blimp-like" feeling I got right after. That said, since it's been like 36 weeks or so for me, I now have the occasionaly beer, but it's really not so much fun. Sitting on the front porch on Friday when everyone one comes home with our three neighbours wives (they're house moms and I've worked outta my home office now for a decade) is the best way to drink like 12 or 18 beers.... But I dont do that anymore - oh, I'm still on the porch and still partying, but now I have like a nice Australian Shiraz or a Napa Valley Chardonney....love wine...and pretty much don't like beer much anymore... Amazing how tastes change, eh? Jim
