BrotherDiamond, I hit a stall around my 6 month point that held me at the 290's for 4 weeks. Nothing like you have experienced, though.  I stayed away from the scales to keep my spirits up and focused on geting all my water and liquid protein in each day for the last two weeks of the stall, plus I added a daily routine of climbing from the ground floor up the three flights of stairs to my office area four times a day.  The stall finally broke, after I noticed my pants getting loose.  Best of luck to you. Derrick, many folk**** plateaus on the way down that can last 6 weeks… But 3 months? Sumpin’ Up! First, (good you are head to the Doc with it) Check to see if there was a "staple-line disruption" I know (very few) folks who’s stomach was not completely cut free from their old stomach, just stapled up. If those staples start to release in there, the whole thing can open up and food is getting over into the "old-stomach" and the mal-absorption portion of the surgery is completely lost. Ask him to do an endoscopy to check for it. If everything is in working order, then get to re-learning how to "use your tool." Avoid "Dieting." That will re-enforce old "diet-mentality" and we all know how well diets worked for us prior to WLS.

For a "Plateau Buster?"- here’s what I got….. It’s just old re-post crap, but could be useful "check-list" to find "What is Going On!"

(sorry to just "drop a link" a butt-load of time----- (have the Greatest at the Doc’s tomorrow-) PS- Great bunch of Men you've got there! Proud daddy!! Best Wishes- Dx

This happened to me too - I was stuck at 248 lbs for over 3 months after losing 70 lbs in the first 5 months after surgery. I discovered it was because I was drinking alcohol too often.  Now before anyone comments on this - I know that drinking even a little alcohol is a big no-no for WLS folks but  I also know that quite a few WLS people just don't acknowledge that they do drink alcohol on occasion.  I've discussed it with several WLS patients and have also read the forums were this is debated. I knew that I shouldn't indulge but I thought the reasons were mostly related to the damage it can do to a WLS patient's liver due to how fast the alcohol is absorbed into the bloodstream.  I am the proverbial cheap-date - one drink is about all I can take.  Now I know that it can also stop your weight loss. I don't know from your post if you ever indulge but I did and my weight loss stopped dead in it's tracks.  Within two days of completely stopping drinking any alcohol - even the 1 drink I was allowing myself a few times a week - my weight loss resumed again.  I'm now only 20 lbs from goal.
