Sleep Issues
Hi Folks,
Did any of you have trouble sleeping after surgery?
The first week post-op was fine as far as sleep except the pulling of the incisions when I would turn or get out of bed. Now, however, I am having a devil of a time getting to sleep and then I just sleep for 3 or 4 hours. I've found that I'm having a lot more energy during the day now and maybe that is carrying over to night as well. Ambien, Unisom, benadryl, etc. don't seem to be working at all, whereas prior to surgery if I took any of those, I would be zonked for 10 hours.
So what is it? Extra testosterone being released? Just an energy surge? The B12? What????? I like the extra energy during the day, but I LIKE to get sleep too!
Thanks for any of you ideas.

I had some of the same sleep issues after surgery for about the first two weeks. I was sleeping in my recliner... no way I could sleep in a bed. I was taking light doses of my surgery pain meds to help get me asleep... basically it took the edge off and helped me get a few hours.. but I would only sleep for 2 to 3 hours, then I would wake up , watch tv for a few hours and then get a few more hours sleep by about 4 to 6 am... that all lasted to about 3 weeks post op and once back in bed, I'm back to normal. I tried tylenol PM liquid which worked good, but it gave me terrible heartburn, so I only took it twice.
