Surgey Update

My surgery has been moved ahead to the 25th of June at 4:00 pm.

Honestly, I'd recommend you indulge in one last orgy of caloric excess. Go hit all your favorite haunts, waterholes, and restaurantes one last time. The 11th of June is your "drop dead day". No more pig-outs! Protein or liquids only -  or whatever your Doc does. It's part of your mental "cleansing". I honestly don't believe you'll miss overeating after surgery, I don't, but that 2 weeks before surgery was hell on me. It was like a messy, prolonged break-up with "fat Dave". I lived through it though. You will too. Good luck, Brother. I'm excited for you. DD

 No I  am not on stand by it's just when I first went to the surgeon office he took an unplanned vacation without telling anyone in advance. Then the second appointment for consultation he was very impressed that I had lost as much weight as I had to prepare for this procedure he was going to dictate the letter that morning and fax it over to the Insurance Company. That did not happen for 3 weeks so after getting rapidly fed up I called the competitor and requested a consult I signed for them to have my file sent from the other Dr's office. Three hours later the first office informs me that I am approved and scheduled for July 23rd and all of this was left on my cellphone voice mail. Which I did not check for a couple of days then I called back and told them if I could not get the earlier appointment that I was promised during the consult I would just go to the competition they have an Avmed rep in their office and could get it approved while I was there. So they scheduled it for July 10th meanwhile the competition says they can do it on July 2nd but that would be the earliest and I would be on stand by id some one did not show up. I informed my surgeon office that I was going to the competition  yesterday by phone and they called me this morning and advised that if I would stay with them they would do me on the 25th of June. Since I was in effect jerked around by the office in getting the paperwork filed and all the hassle that had taken place they " the surgical group" would cover any plastics that I might need in the future in connection with this procedure at 1/2 price. I asked for that in writing and she told me to turn on my fax, I now have it and will get my procedure done on the 25th of June.

Damn!  I should have had youaround back when I was fighting insurance companies!!!

Way to work 'em!!! All you ever hear is about patients upset about how they are getting worked, it's nice to see them underthegun for a change! That is awesome, especially the part about securing a huge discount on plastics.  June 25th will be upon you so soon, before you know it you will pre-op dieting. I know it has seemed like forever to get this far. But buckle up now cuz you're in for one hell of a ride!...I agree with the Dave, the next two weeks are last supper time, becuase after that you will have no other choice but to get serious! Don't worry though because like he said after the first few weeks of food mourning, your lifestyle changes will become second nature. Good luck and congratulations!
