"Falling Asleep" Position has Changed?

I used to lie sorta on my side - but with a 60" waist I'd "fall" over onto my sorta tummy, one arm under my pillow the other tucked under my chin. Due to the LARGE size of my tummy, of course, I was sort of "canted" on my side and not really on my tummy at all. Never been able to fall asleep on my back neither. Now, with a 43" waist and almost NO tummy, that postion doesn't work - as when I now try to assume it, I roll right over onto my belly, ie flat out on my stomach. There's no big belly to hold me sort of canted anymore. And that's a pain to say the least. I now toss 'n turn for like almost an hour, trying this and that and then over to the other side and then back and then back again...sigh. Anyone else have trouble finding a GOOD new position too?  Jim

Jim, I became a "Back-sleeper" overnight. Went into the hospital as a ‘side/belly’ sleeper, and was changed! Probably the long ICU stay! But, now a days? Comfortable as can be on my back! Best sleep in 40 years! Hope you get comfortable soon! Best Wishes- Dx

Jim - Since you're in canada already, I can recommend a great solution -- Sea Swell Designs (somewhere up there north of the border lol; can't remember exactly where, except that they are in Canada) makes GREAT GREAT GREAT buckwheat  hull pillows; I use one of the small or medium for my head, then make an L with one of the bigger ones, that way I'm sorta in my old "leaning/canted" position... I can "scrunch" it around for neck support or reshape it however I need to... I can't remember for sure which size I have, but they are truly awesome.. I think the website is either seaswell dot com or seaswelldesigns; you can probably google it. I can sleep on my back if I have my cpap on, but with sinus/allergies, that means that there's a good part of the spring I can't use it even when I want to.. (or else it blows the crap right down into my lungs). I need a new sleep study. :-) ...N
