I'm home
Okay, most of you don't know what happened or why I've been so quiet lately, but here goes.
On May 8th, I was taken to the ER because I was very, very sick. They admitted me, where I spent until May 24th in because I had bacterial meningitis. (Check spelling someone)
Miserable.
I'm still a bit wobbly when I walk, but considering all the possible outcomes, having to spend some time working out how to use my legs again is pretty acceptable. Though I'm sure I'm driving my wife nuts because I can't handle all this laying around doing nothing anymore.
The good news:
From a high weight of 652, I'm down to 303 lbs. That's a weight loss of 349 lbs since April 17th, 2006 when I had my first surgery.
At any rate, I'm still pretty weak, and still not sitting at the computer a whole lot, so I still may be a bit quiet for another couple of weeks, but I should recover fully.
Oh - and just so everyone understands - this had nothing to do with the gastric bypass. Doctors said I probably got it from a shopping cart or something along those lines.
USE HAND SANITIZER!!!
Dave, so glad you are on the mend and hope you are feeling 100% real soon. When your wife came on the board and mentioned you were sick, we put you on our prayer list. So we had 35 guys who don't know you praying for you. Get stronger, buddy. We missed you on the boards.
BTW, you lost an entire me in a little over a year. I mean, I'm down about a supermodel but you are down an NFL noseguard. Way to go!!!
Blessings,
Greg
