I just had a few boats of sushi not too long ago, love the stuff.  But post surgery - 1 piece maybe and pray the rice won't haunt you.  Easy on the wasabi and ginger.   Now, Not Dave can fill us in on sushi, he lives in Japan and merely has to ask a mama san to fix him some sushi!  Huh Dave!

I go for the Sashimi. The rice swells a bit for me and fills me up to "over full" about 20 minutes after I finish eating. The Sashimi has been a fairly constant weekly part of my diet since about 6months out…Here at 4 years post-op, I still love it.  Oh, and the Miso soup is a stple of my diet as well...great stuff! Best Wishes- Dx

Like Dx says, sushi is fine, but the rice will fill you up. Just plain raw fish (sashimi) is great - the closest thing to a liquid meat. I can eat that stuff endlessly.

Sometimes I feel like I'm gorging on cut bait or marine park dolphin treats though!

Love it big time AND I can still eat like 2 or 3 pieces....wasabi and soy don't seem to affect me either! Jim
