Lawdy Mama; I'm approved!

I've been in this swing for 6 mos. and it's been a learning experience.  But now my insurance has reviewed my case for less than 10 days and have approved Bariatric Surgery for me.  Hallelujah! I called the surgeon's office and asked them if they received the letter, they said they had and they'll call me next week so I will quit calling them!  Hoo haw I glad I had these six months surfing here though, I've waded through a ton of information and feel good about choosing the RNY tool! 

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  After all of my Doc's gave their approval my insurance company approved my surgery the next day.   Now all you need is your surgery date.

Congrats on your approval, and your decision to move forward with this life change.  After 6 months of prep, I have no doubt that you are dedicated to making your surgery experience a success! 

RNY has been wonderful for me and my wife, who both had the procedures done in March of this year!

 That's the news I've been waiting to hear! Congrats, Bob I think  they were just waiting to get that new bariatric / psychiatric ward finished, so you could be the first patient admitted into it. Get ready for a wild ride, my friend. DD

Hi Bob, What great news! I remember what a liberating feeling it was to get the official approval. As the other guys have said, it gets wilder and better at each step. We're all happy for you.

Hey Bob CONGRATULATIONS... I am so happy for you. All the hoops that the psych evaluations were putting you through was so much different from my experience. My Psych preferred to do all the taking, I just sat and nodded.   It may have been a long wait, but the results make it all worth while. The six months have given you time read and learn. As you have read from the many "advisors" on this board, it still takes a lot more mental work and attitiude to make the most of this tool.  I feel like I am still working on the mental aspects everyday, the surgury was the starting point for a long term change.
