OK gang, the dreaded day is approaching.  Friday I go under to have the nasty hernia repaired.  The surgeon thinks he can do it laproscopically, but won't know for sure till they get in.  Of course, i won't know anything till I wake up.  Things should go smooth regardless, I am 240 pounds lighter than i was last go around, certainly alot more healthier to deal with surgery.  The surgeon and hospital are very reputable.  Unfortunately, I couldn't have it done at Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale due to insurance changes.  So, I'll post when all is over.  Thanks to all for all the support over the past 13 months.   John

Hey Bro Hoffman, Make sure they get anything you may have swallowed as a kid, and that they don't fix more than they are suppose to. Good luck man and may the FARTS be with you.  Enjoy the drugs, its Memorial Day weekend. Can you say spinning, the room is spinning,....WEEEEEE!!!! I'll be pulling for you dude.

Hey man, I too am going in for a hernia surgery on Tuesday the 29th.  My doc is actually going to do a full open cut again and try to remove some of the scar tissue from the first open surgery.  While in there he will pull and tuck the loose skin in a little. Good luck.

John I had similar results as Russ did.  I didn't realize how much the hernias were affecting me....I thought I felt good prior to surgery (with the exception of the flare-ups of hernia pain and gallbladder...those were a total B*TCH!) ...but after I was fully recovered, I couldn't believe the extra energy and my productivity in the gym has been greatly improved too. Things are going to go great!  Take care and let us know how things go! Cards Fan

John, Now at less than half the weight at your originally surgery? You’ll be Amazed at how much easier it all is. And this one is a breeze compared to the WLS! Have the Greatest on Friday! Having the Hernia fixed will make you feel a lot better a lot sooner! Hurry home! Best Wishes- Dx

Hey guys, How do you know if you have a hernia?  I've read that  an indication could be a bluge when doing situps and I've read where pain was an indication.  Are there any other symptoms/ways to find out if you have a hernia?  Also, how do they locate it/diagnose it?  Is it done via a CT scan or do they have to go in and do exploratory surgery?    Thanks, CA
