Well, I made it through the RNY surgery without any problems.  In & out in an hour and a half.  The PCA and pain ball are great!  I've been up and walking at least 7 or 8 times and got dressed this morning.  Had some ice chips yesterday and was started on liquids today.  Pretty good for less than 24 hours out.  And no foley or NG tube!!!!!!!!  The surgeon said he couldn't be more pleased.  I'm really glad there were no compications.   I'm in for a few more days just to be on the safe side, but am looking forward to being on the losing team for once .

This is one time in your life when you actually pray to be a big loser! Glad your surgery went as great as it did. The ride is a little bumpy for a few weeks, but it gets better. Take care of yourself and start kicking those pounds to the curb. See ya when you get home! Ron

Welcome to the loser's bench Tim.  BTW, do not be discouraged when you get on the scale when you get home and realize you gained 6-9 lbs.  That is because of swelling and all the IV fluids they give you.  You lose that really quickly.  You will be down 10lbs or more in your first 10 days.   Way to go. Welcome, Tim!

Good news about the successful "attachment free" surgery. Welcome to the loser's bench. All kinds of guys here, from those who lose by dieting alone or modest exercise, to those who are always dying to work out. (But you've been here for a while haven't you?)

Take the first few months to lose a lot of weight, as you'll see from the great guys here, there's more than one way to get that done.

Best Wishes,

Dave

Glad to hear it! Listen to the good folks at the hospital, and everything will be just dandy. Speedy recovery, and get ready to fire up the maxi-melt. DD
