Another FART (honk! honk! blow my own horn time again) A world class skiier came to our U. to give a motivational presentation to our students yesterday.

When her entourage and one of our PE teachers passed me on campus, she said

"Wow, that fellow's built? What does he do?"

The coach said, "He's an English teacher. He just loves to work out."

Lovin every minute of this WLS biz...

Hi Dx,

Maybe "pooping myself" is just a FART taken too far!

GREAT POST!

similar situation today. i work with a real estate investment team and i hadn't seen the group in months. we had an open house for the local realtors who've known me for years. so they brought me to the house and the production manager introduces me to realtors both our companies used over the past few years and not a single person recognized me as their boss! when they were told their jaw**** the ground. they were speechless. i loved it and had a great laugh. a couple of the guy realtors saw gail but thought she got a new man and said nothing to me. so today was my coming out party. i was wearing jeans and a poliester sleevless workout shirt in black. so i was looking buff. a couple of the girls appologized for staring. a couple of the guy realtors thought they saw gail with a new man and thought she dumped me.

so today was a fun day. since everyone suspected i had been dumped and replaced with this studly guy. they all commented on my new build and how huge my muscles were. what a head trip. so now i'm the talk of the realtor community. i won't let it get out of hand but i sure am getting some interesting looks from the babes in the offices. so having a little fun with the new bod. everybody comments on it now. i think its because i got my old form back. i was in really good shape back then and could have competed. not anymore but you get the point. serious bod this time around thanks to surgery and lifting. what an amazing journey....carbonblob

CB,

You stud!

Isn't it great when old acquaintances don't recognize you - now that really shows that there's a difference.

Reminds me of the past FART when the neighbors thought my wife was walking around with a son we had kept hidden (my poor wife!).

Love the looks from the babes, too. But at work, they are all 18-20 -  literally babes.

You have to feel macho just thinking of the possibilities that you had the fortitude to forgo.

I'm always wondering how you work out at that level, to get such a great bod when you have those back problems? You said once, that it even hurts when you breathe. I just can't imagine.

Well, keep on pumpin'!

well Dave, that's the whole bittersweet thing about this journey. i look great but on the inside i hurt almost all the time. i'm having a horrible two days here now. tons of pain that won't go away. i just lift regardless unless it's over the top pain. if i'm remotely close to that pain level i'll still workout. the workouts actually stretch my muscles so it's a help. when it gets to the point of hard breathing then no, no workouts. i have my patches on, tons of meds and my IF device on today and still have pain but worked out. it helped a little but not much. so back to laying down........carbonblob

CB,

I often wonder what I'll do if I get nerve pain from my back someday. I doubt that my muscles will go anytime soon and ball joints and cartilage never give me any trouble at all.

The one thing that could go that runs in my family is the disks. If they do, you've given me the inspiration and insight to keep going, even through the pain.

Hang in the bud, hope the pain eases...

Dave
