I'd say it might be something to keep an eye on and mention it to your surgeon.....I remember dave posting a site about hernias several weeks back, during that post we discussed abdominal cramping after abdominal work outs..and it can be a sign of an internial hernia...something that gets twisted when you start to work it out.   I was having a similar type issue, I had to lay off my abdominal work out for about 6 weeks, and then I slowly started to work them out again with no issue.  I agree with CB on this one..maybe you should lay off the weights...you can get really good abs by doing tons of crunches and such without any weights.  Scott

funny you mention that scott,

i was doing something in the gym one day and i swear i popped something in my gut. right where the surgery was. my side bulged out and you could actually see the thing under the skin. i totally freaked out, loosened my lifting belt and sat down. the bump receeded and that was it! so beware, you really can make things pop, i'm living proof. so be careful when cinching up those belts before a lift. now when i feel that area cramping i stop, loosen the belt and take a deep breath and start over. that was a scary moment......carbonblob
