Wow!  I'm not sure why I thought I'd never hit a plateau, but it appears that's exactly what I'm in.  I'm slightly bummed.  Does this look like a regular plateau to you guys or does it appear that I am completely finished losing weight and I will forever be stuck at 234?  Not that 234 is bad, just that I was certainly hoping to end up under 200 after giving up 90cm of small bowel and a big chunk of my god-given stomach! Help!  What am I doing wrong?  Food, exercise, water are all about the same, or I'm actually doing BETTER in all three categories.  I always FEEL smaller until I get on the scale once a week and then it hits me that I'm not losing pounds.  I'm not doing any serious weight training, so I can't blame muscle gain. Any ideas, hints, tricks, or is this just a necessary evil to losing? Anybody just want tell me it's not over yet? Ken

Ken. It looks like a regular readjustment to rapid weight loss to me. I go through periodic stalls as well. Got so used to the weight pouring off me that I got a bit spoiled. Just keep doing and you'll be fine.

Thanks!  Needed to hear that from someone way out.  How's life treating you lately Dan?

If I felt any better they'd be checking my urine for drugs.  Life is indeed beautiful. Thanks for asking.

Ken,
Just looks like a litte stall / adjustment period to me.
And considering you dropped 8 lbs in one week the week before this little stall... I'd say all is well.
You're only 4 months out... there's NO WAY that you're even close to being finished. Try not to overthink it - keep doing what you're doing and soon you'll be buying new, smaller pants (again!)

Be Well,
A.J.

Thanks A.J. I appreciate the input.  As you know by now, reducing overthinking is something I'm constantly thinking about (lame joke).

I DID notice looking at the numbers that I always lose more when I travel for work, so maybe I'll volunteer for more business trips.

Have a good one! Ken

I obviously don't know what you're eating/drinking; but hitting a plateau doesn't mean you did something wrong. Frustrating as hell, I know, but nothing wrong (per se). The body sometimes just needs a week or three (or four) to catch it's breath. Don't panic. Just go back to basics, and keep exercising. It'll break. The fun part is that often after plateaus you get a rapid week of weight loss again.
Keep us posted, and keep your head up.

Very true Jake, this was the first one for me, but I knew it was coming at some point.  Congrats on your loss.  You went about a month ahead of me.  Have been watching your posts.  We're both doing great really!  Keep up the excellent work! Ken

Ken, You and I are a close match. I had my RNY on 1-22-07. I lost 20 lbs prior and went into the sugery at 300lbs. I weigh about 240 now and have been for about 2 weeks now. Even though my weight is about the same I feel like I've lost some girth if that makes sense. I'm wearing a waste size 40 pair of jeans at work today. I can't remember when I last fit into size 40 jeans. I am working out at the gym 3 days a week. I go 30 min. on an elliptical and strength train for about 20 min. The exercise really helps keep the "attitude" in shape. I really think the best part of exercise is the mental conditioning we get from it. I too am afraid of hitting the wall. But if we keep burning more calories that we consume we have to loose, right? At the gym we have to stop and catch our breath at times, perhaps our bodies are doing something similar during the "stalls". Hope this helps some. Maintain those positive vibes. The farther out we get the more we have to rely on ourselves rather than the sugery to get us the results we're after. At least that's what my Dr. told me.  Doug

Very true, Doug!  I appreciate you taking time to write that out.  It sounds like we are both doing great, and this is to be expected.  Totally agree with you on the working out.  I don't think I could manage without it anymore.  It's a great stress reliever.  Ken
