Tattoos

I am thinkning of getting a new tattoo. Well not thinkimg, I am. I have 3 right now. the one on my right arm I got for my 21st birthday and it is a panther ripping outta my skin.  When I was bigger it looked like one on a WWII vets arm. Faded and looking nasty. Now that I am smaller and getting some shape, the tattoo that was in the middle of my arm is now moving to the outerside of it. Starting to look a little weird. So I am gonna cover it up. I was thinking of a Phoenix to represent the new life blah, blah, blah. Any other suggestions that could represent the same thing. I was thinking of a Superman, Clark Kent, phonebooth theme but I am sure that is used a buttload. My other idea has nothing to do with the surgery. Since I started getting them I wanted to get a dragon that starts on my arm with the tail wrapping around it like a small band and have it continuing up my shoulder and halfway across my chest. Kinda like Matthew McConaughey in Reign or Fire. Here is a pic of it: tribal dragons bale and mcconaughey

Hi Dave,       I am also getting a Phoenix when I get to my goal weight. I am pretty much sketching it myself. It will start in my forearm and go up to my shoulder. Its good to hear other people with the idea of a phoenix. It is a great symbol of life. Good Luck with it. Tommy

I had a Phoenix drawn out by an artist but it resembled an animated Firebird symbol on the car. Pretty much took an eagle, drew it, and colored it red, yellow and orange. The Phoenix is still an option but my tat that I am covering up is so dark that I need dark colors. I was thinking of more a "tribal" looking Phoenix.

Hey Tom.... I got a tat on my arm, that seems to have slid a little...but going to the gym really helps...on the arm stuff since I'm older than you I have a little different take...One is find the design that you want, and if that is the only design that you like in 1 year or 2, then that is the one for you....I got a friend who wants a tat, and for the past 13 years he changes his mind every month on what he wants and the style... I think all the tribal arm bands that every guy has, has about run their course, so get something that you will like for ever....I have to tell myself...tats are not a fashion statement...because fashion changes..... You are still very young....compared to me at least, and I think of Ozzy...how his looked good on a young body, and now they don;t have the punch....plus he has to shave his chest to make it look good.... but not that I have ranted....I do have an addition to my arm tattoo...that I have thought about for 1 1/2 years...let me get thru with this PS, and i'm gonna have some needle work..... have a good one...and congrats on your loose russ

I'm curious, shouldn't a WLS patient wait until at goal weight before getting a tat? I mean, everything slips around so much.

Anyone with experience in the matter?

My last one was done at Masterpiece. That is probably the place I am gonna go to. I know it is going to be a big piece and cost alot but their stuff is pretty nice. Yeah I am planning it now, bubt probably gonna get it towards the middle/end of the summer. I am only 20 or so pounds from goal.
