San Dimas Dan! I don’t know what got you to start this thread, But so far, I almost crapped myself laughing 3 times just getting to the bottom of it!!
On a less entertaining note: [Cant is an example of a cryptolect, a characteristic or secret language used only by members of a group, often used to conceal the meaning from those outside the group.
The original meaning of "cant" was a secret language supposedly used by rogues and vagabonds in Elizabethan England. (thus, and integral aspect of much of Shakespeare’s Plays. The low-life’s and bad guys and knaves will often use "Cant" phrases.) It was, and is a way of describing the vernacular of the criminal underworld. "Tony Soprano Speak."] So? I like the word can't in the right context: I can't get enough uh well I can't say what I mean but it has to do with
the female anatomy. I can't drink enough water. given the right context - I can't is all right.
