4 week update... WooHoo!
Today is 4 weeks since I had my Lap RNY. I couldn't be happier with the results.
My first, and major, goal has been achieved already. I'm off my lantus injections for diabetes. I'm now controlling my diabetes through diet only. That alone is worth the price of surgery. My BP meds have been halved. I'm hoping to come off them within the next month. I'm on the road to being healthy again, and believe me. That puts a pep in my step.
My weight loss has been steady, if not dramatic. I went into surgery at 358 lbs. Today I weighed in at 332 lbs. 26 lbs. gone forever in just 4 weeks. Lovin' it. My goal is to break 300 by the 4th of July. I'm confident it can be done.
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and support along the way. I appreciate you all.
DD
Hey DD that's great! I'm sure you'll make that 300 by the 4th. Sounds like things are going good for you, gives me some encouragement having someone so close in dates. My weights coming off, in fact a little too fast for me, I'm down about 26 to 28 in only 2 weeks. Having trouble getting everything in that I'm supposed to.
Hey Double Dee,
As much as I'd like to take ALL of the credit for your success,...its all you man.
You made the choice.
You did the pre-op stuff very well
You are sticking to the program.
You are being a great support for others on the Boards (sometimes the teacher learns more than the students)
You deserve all the succes you are having.
You are doing a great job man. Bust the seams off that 300 and watch out 250,
DD is coming to town!!
Go man GO!
It good to hear that mmillion dollar smile all the way over here in VA.
Joe
Thank you, DD for all of *your* encouragement!
You are one of the best at that. I'm glad to hear about the diabetes. My father has that, but has been unable to control his diet and it has been terribly debilitating to him, so it is wonderful that you've got control of that. The weight loss alone is just as important. It will allow you unbelievable mobility and freedom. In a word...congrats! Thanks for all of your support, too!
