6th Grade FART

Well,  although I've had many FARTS in the past couple months, I felt this one was worth posting.  I am now at my 6th grade weight of 241.  I had no idea what being an adult at this weight was and it's been nice although not where I want to be yet.  When I was in 6th grade, there was a tv show called "240 Robert" and the kids called me "240 Al".  God, it sucked being overweight my entire life and I'm really just realizing it now because I never really knew anything different.  Thanks to all for your support no matter where you are in this crazy process. Congratulations, Al!

That's a nice, big'ol stinky one. Next step, infancy! Keep up the good work, skinny.

Hey "240 Al" again, This time is so much sweeter, right? I was 250 when I left high school, didn't gain my extra baggage until I was 21-22. When I would run into fellow HS students, they would look at me funny. Probably thinking, "Ron really let himself go." Regardless of when I gained, I'm really excited to be back in this range again. I know exactly what you're feeling. Don't give up until you're down to a weight that makes "you" happy. Everyone else will just have to get used to the new you. Stories like this make my day.  Ronnie

Congrats Al.  Nice to see those milestones come and go. I'm down 37 as of this AM. Got a short run in before delivering papers and then just got back from swimming at lunch. The energy boost is really hitting it's stride for me. I have until this weekend for lifting restrictions, so thank God that's almost here so I can start some landscaping projects I have in mind. Let's get together sometime in June and have a family picnic somewhere. Any ideas? Congrats on the loss and keep working at it....   Jim.

I understand what you mean about not fully realizing how lousy being overweight is until we start to get out from under that burden. Being a fat kid is a hard way to be a kid. Congrats on being a "loser."

If I've learned two things this past year it's this, 1. It's never too late to have a second childhood. 2. It's never too late to be thin. Enjoy all those things you couldn't as a heavy kid. Ride the roller coaster. Climb a tree. Hell, build a tree house. Buy that fast car. Wear a tank top. Whistle or wink at a woman Wa-a-a-a-y out of your league. Why not.  Enjoy the new found you. DD
