Vitamin D and sunlight...
Just wondering...I had RNY about 7 months ago. Everytime I am in sunlight I seem to get a burst of energy!! I take my milk products and vitamins regularly. I am wondering if the burst of energy is because of the sunlight and maybe my body is not absorbing the vitamin D in my gut. They are making new discoveries every day. When they first did RNY they didn't know about the great need for vitamin B-12 until 2 people died from the lack of it. Could this be the same with vitamin D and sunlight? I posted this on the Main Board too. Thoughts...Brian in Turlock CA
that's very serious that the dotors never thought about this aspect but now i'm relieved that they have found a remedy. i wanted your advice since you have done this surgery. is this possible for some who is not too fat to do it. i know you'd want to see the image of the person but send it here because i could't see any image option. never mind i'll post my query again after having gone through http://www.uploadit.org to upload the image, so that you can see the person. but you can still share your experience so that i can know more about it.
Hi Cabin, Just saw your post. Not sure how quickly you're getting this response from sunlight, but there may be possibilities other than Vitamin D. One could be simply because light and warmth feel good. OR, it could be due to your body's circadian rhythms changing from the sun. May also be hormonal:

Sunlight just plain feels good, though...doesn't it! Might go with chewable vitamins like Optisource Bariatric (Wallgreens), if you're in doubt. Or maybe even Centrum chewable.
Good Luck, Dave
Up here in Canada, the latest press on Vitamin D appears to be quite astonishing -- and a dang good read!
