Plateau Finally Broke - Down 150 Today!

Finally the plateau I was on for over 7 weeks (up and down the same 2 lbs.) broke and today I weighed in at 294 - that's 150 lbs. lost since my first consult on May 30 of last year.  One more pound and I will be down 100 since surgery (9/26/06).   That plateau was the worst!  I was even staying away from reading the boards and posting because it was just too frustrating.  Increasing the calories, fat and protein along with a break from the gym seemed to have been what worked - go figure...   Thanks to the suggestions a few weeks back. I have been wondering about you bud.  Glad to hear from you and that is great news.  100lbs since 9/26 is nothing to sneeze at.  I am happy for you.

Thanks Scott!  As I said before, I was just giving you a chance to catch up to me and you're doing it!  I read back through some older posts recently and really enjoyed your 6-month review.  We've come a long way for sure.  Also, congratulations on the new baby!  Hope the trip goes smoothly. Steve

Steve,  Being down a buck fifty is a great accomplishment. Those plateaus are worst but it seems like it takes the body some time to adjust to all the changes. I lived through a similar plateau, and just stopped checking after a while, but stayed focused on the long term goal. Some times upsetting the apple cart will bring about a change. Great achievement. Way to go Steve!!!  Getting through the plateau might be the greatest thing you have learned so far.  I know it was for my 8 week plateau.  That's why I am so thankful for this board.   Way to go!!! Greg

Thanks Greg!  It's actually reassuring to hear I'm not the only one that had that long of a plateau.  It was really messing with my head for sure and I guess the most surprising thing was that it actually did take eating more to get things moving again. Keep up the good work! Steve

Great News, Steve! You really took off a lot pre-op too, didn't you? Always enjoy your posts. Celebrate  the success, Dave

Thanks Dave.  Look at you on those freakin rollerblades!!  Keep that helmet on!  The only time in my life I ever broke a bone was on roller skates in the park.  I've been looking at scooters lately - that might be as close to dangerous living as I get these days. Steve
