Hi Don, Congrats on surviving week #1. It gets easier. I had the diarrhea and loss of appetite, too. It's temporary. At 3 weeks out I'm eating between 800- 1000 calories a day.  Mostly soups, eggs, and cheese. 60- 80 grams of protein a day. 22 gram protein shakes twice a day. My energy levels aren't where I'd like them to be, but they're improving everyday. Patience and moderation are what I've learned since surgery. Slow and small, when it comes to putting anything in the pouch. You'll learn. Good luck, and enjoy the melt. DD

Don, are you drinking the water and Crystal Light chilled?  I'm afraid your days of drinking chilled liquids might be over.  Room temp water goes down so much easier for me (and I can put away a lot more water that way too).  If you have a flavor issue, get a Brita.  I actually have one of the shelf models which I re-fill bottles with.  I carry around 4 liters of water with me because I know I usually can't get good tasting room-temp water out and about. 4 Liters a day! As for the BM's, you're on liquids and you're still getting rid of the gas from surgery.  I've found that once on the iron, I'm only going once a day in the morning, but when I get the urge, I pay attention!
