I'm done waiting...tomorrow's the day!
Well guys, I head to the hospital in the morning. Surgery is at 11. I wanted to thank all of you guys for the advice and laughs. You guys have been great even though with all these farts, you stink up the joint!
I know you may not be into poetry unless it's lewd but think you may get something from a verse from Mary Oliver's poem, "The Journey." Don't worry, not going to put the whole thing here.
"One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice -- "
This poem is what got me off my ass 4 years ago to get my undergraduate degree, though I was in my late 40's. It's also what I keep in mind as I start this journey; I was tired of being tired all the time, tired of being out of breath, and when I started learning about WLS, I knew this was what I needed to do...though a lot of well meaning people may think I'm out of my mind.
And as Dx mentioned to me, quoting from Mary O., "---“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” WLS gives us the opportunity to live instead of slowly fading away.
Just my thoughts.
Anyway, thanks, and clear the bench! I'm on my way!
Bobby
