Besides Food - Is there anything you miss post-op?
Oh-oh Boner, Last guy who said that got a prescription for "the pump" from me! But, try the nuts and heavy weights first...
Glad to see you posting. I had internal hernia surgery, but that was gravy train. The panni? Isn't that where they skin your whole lower abdomen? Sounds pretty painful. Hope you're feeling on the "up and up" soon!

Hi CF,
I (sort of) miss the delusion that my pre-op bulk = power. I used to think of myself as burly, "big," etc., like the fattish-muscular guys who play bouncers and bikers in B-movies or like going-to-seed exNFL linemen. But . . .
The other day when I mentioned to my wife that I'm feeling puny and wasted and miss being perceived as "big and powerful," she said, in that wifely way all married guys know, "Oh? did people see you that way?"
Looking at one of my last pre-op photos, the answer has to be, "No, they say a big, round, massive, softish short guy, not a bouncer or lineman." Ouch!
I also kind of miss the huge pockets I had in my size 60 pants. I could carry a toolkit, cell phone, walkie-talkie, Bowie knife, side of beef, and liter of Coke in one pocket without so much as a wrinkle or pucker.
But considering the gains that come from losing, I don't miss anything worth missing.
Are the MO floods affecting you? I know that the Missouri River at flood stage is something (my grandparents lived at a confluence of the Missouri and Grand Rivers). Hope you're dry and safe.

The floods are not affecting my area but my hometown is once again in danger of flooding...it has a river that spills into the Missouri River and it's feared that levels could get as high as the flood of 1993...pretty widespread devastation, so we're keeping our fingers crossed.
Funny thing though about flooding...my wife was speaking at an event in Kansas over the weekend being held at a retreat out in the middle of nowhere. Ended up getting surrounded by water from a flooded creek and a lake above them that overflowed. Wife and friends are fine after rescue teams evacuated them by boat...her van, well we don't know if we have a van anymore. We plan a return trip to Kansas once the water goes down to see if there's a vehicle remains.
The only part about being able to get through the crowd easily was "getting through the crowd"...I was in denial and didn't even want to come to terms as to the reason why people got out of the way.
Keep the faith!
