Hello Again Guys,

Emphasis on neutral !

One of my favorites is:

"Never trust anyone who's main job responsibility is keeping his own job."

Have a Good One,

The reason there are so few female politicians is that it's too much trouble to put makeup on two faces. -  Maureen Murphy Politicians are the same all over.  They promise to build a bridge even when there is no river.  - Nikita Khruschev (1894 - 1971) Under every stone lurks a politician. - Aristophanes (450 BC - 388 BC),  Bobby

The government is like a baby’s alimentary canal, with a healthy appetite at one end and no responsibility at the other.

- Ronald Reagan Ours was the first revolution in the history of mankind that truly reversed the course of government, and with three little words: "We the people." "We the people" tell the government what to do, it doesn't tell us. "We the people" are the driver, the government is the car. And we decide where it should go, and by what route, and how fast. Almost all the world's constitutions are documents in which governments tell the people what their privileges are. Our Constitution is a document in which "We the people" tell the government what it is allowed to do. "We the people" are free. This belief has been the underlying basis for everything I've tried to do these past eight years.  (From Ronald Reagan's Farewell Speech)

So...these are not specifically about politicians, but they are my two favorite quotes about freedom/government. Both by Thomas Payne.

"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it."Thomas Payne, (1737-1809

"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated."--Thomas Payne, (December 1776)

Politicians and diapers should both be changed regularly and for the same reason.

Democracy is being allowed to vote for the politician you dislike least.

A politician needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen.--Winston Churchill

If neutral = equally cynical about all things political I offer these from H. L. Mencken: "There is the art of the demagogue, and there is the art of what may be called, by a shot-gun marriage of Latin and Greek, the demaslave. . . . The demagogue is one who preaches doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots. The demaslave is one who listens to what these idiots have to say and then pretends that he believes it himself." "No educated man stating plainly the elementary notions that every educated man holds about the matters that principally concern government, could be elected to office in a democratic state, save perhaps by a miracle. His frankness would arouse fears, and those fears would run against him; it is his business to arouse fears that will run in favour of him. Worse, he must not only consider the weaknesses of the mob, but also the prejudices of the minorities that prey upon it." The old boy could sure write!
