Okay Michael. I'm preop and trying to get a handle on this thing. When you say a few like at the beginning of a meal, do you mean a few chips or a few bites and are the bites like the size of your pinkie fingernail or what. Yah ha.

Hey Al one of my favorite snacks is a really spicy salsa with low fat cottage cheese. Some times I mix it together well and other times I just give it a quick stir. I tried mild salsa first and then worked up to the spicy stuff. My favoritre store brand is Kroger Private Select Black Bean that I add a little habinero hot sauce and a dash of salt. I had a cast iron stomach before surgery and so far the only touble I have had is with eating to fast and chewing my food well enough, which I am finally getting in the habit of. pan head
All of the above suggestions, plus-
Soy-crisps. I get these fat free soy chips in the health food section of Kroger. I can’t remember the name…. But they have very little flavor on their own. Also, sometimes I’ll have a few ‘Guilt-less Gourmet’ BlueCorn Tortilla chips, Not a lot, but more than one would imagine. The trick to any of those ‘snack foods’ is to measure out how many to have in a bowl
Rather than the Pre-loss method of eating them out of the bag
Until shockingly, they were all gone!
I mix chunky salsa with drained black beans and chopped onion So it’s more filling than just by itself.
Best Wishes-
