Vegas/Laughlin Fart!
It will be six months out on the 13th of this month and I have had many ups and downs like everybody else. Days where I feel like Im not making progress or days where all the changes seem like they are not real. There are guys out there with tons of weight loss compared to me but, I have to take it into perspective starting weight and body fat percentage. My total weight loss to date is 72lbs. My starting weight was 350 lbs. now 278 lbs. starting body fat 41.5% now 26 % but anywaysheres the Fart.
Left last thursday from Merced California, my hometown with the wife on the back of my 2005 road king and three other friends riding their bikes. Destination Las Vegas and Laughlin for the Laughlin bike run. Four hundred and sixty miles and 9 hours later we arrived in Las Vegas. This was an awesome ride. My ass was pretty sore but other than that it was a great experience, one that I could not of enjoyed like I did seventy pounds heavier. anyway friday checked out Vegas with the wife and friends problably walked five miles atleast. My wife was like man can you slow down and was having problems keeping up, she used to always out walk me. I would always be huffing and puffing. the next day saturday 180 miles round trip into Laughlin the temp. was about 105. Yah it was hot but not like it used to be when I was heavier. It was bearable. Then back to Vegas and More exploring and and walking. Finally Sunday packed up the bike and back to Merced. The quality of this trip compared to other shorter trips I have taken was just huge. I was able to enjoy everything much more than before instead of laboring through everything.
Just had to pass it on and can't wait until the Holister run the weekend after the fourth of July. If anyone is going let me know. Man it feels good to clense the colon!

Hi Moore,
Congrats on the FARTy ride. Don't understimate the significance of a 72lb loss. As the guys around here point out, we're all on individual trips when it comes to how much we lose and how fast--no comparing needed. Success is success and it comes in all shapes, sizes, speeds, ages, etc. Your body-fat change is impressive! Your story makes me miss my mototcycling days, but not enough to start up again (too slow on the reflexes). Enjoy the wind in your face.

Hey! That sounds like a great ride.... I've got an '04 road king, and have yet to hit up the long long highway for a nice ride like that. I need to get a gel seat for my wife, she says her ass gets too sore on any ride over 50 miles or so.
I told her she is lucky that I don't trade it in for a ridgid chopper, with one of those "maxi pad" rear seats on the fender.
Great experience. Sounds like tons of fun and glad you can enjoy it more. Improving your quality of life is the most important part of recovery and maintenance. The weight loss will come. According to my surgeon, 6 months is only half to a third of the rapid weight loss period. You could easily still double 72 lbs down if you are making the effort to stick to the program which it seems you are to have lost 72. Party on ye who needs less seat cushion and walks faster.
