Brian, Congratulations! Don't know whether your diabetes is Type 2 or not, but... Mine was.  I was released from WLS/hospital on half-dosage of my meds, and had to stop taking them a week later when my sugar got too low.  Haven't had a fasting sugar over 97 in two months. WLS will help.  Hang in there, and enjoy the ride... Jeff
