Hi Guys
Great News, Brian!
It's also wonderful that you're able to get your surgery at 37 BMI. Mine was about 42 and I think any BMI over 35 should be covered by insurance, at least for the lapband and probably for other surgeries. At any rate, at such a low BMI, you'll probably be pretty thin in about 7-8 months. Isn't it great?
Dave
I'm not sure which was more difficult to endure, the two weeks before or the first two after.
Either way, it doesn't get any better than this. The preop excitment is killer!
You still have this period for well-meaners that will try to talk you out of this as a big mistake (its not!) And you may have a day or two where you will have second thoughts, kinda like last minute cold feet before getting married and you know how that turned out.
I am glad for you. You are going to do great and yur wife is going to love having you around longer too.
Brian,
In the days preceeding my Banding, I began to panic. I was really worried that I was gonna back out. If you get that feeling, DON'T LISTEN TO THE DOUBTFUL MIND!!!! If you truely want this surgery, go for it. Don't worry about what's on the other side. It's all good. When you get out, it's a bit cornfusing about how your new life will be. But, it's not that bad. My doc gave me "The Yellow Book". It darn near idiot proofs post-op. I'll even scan it and send it to ya' I need be.
