Added a boxing class to the mix last Friday. I'm most proudest that I didn't fall over at some point during the class. Lots of movement, lots of ab work, it's a great workout. I'm going again today. Hope everyone had a great April. Looking forward to getting it done again in May.
Would love to hear how your April finished up exercise wise.
Stronger everyday.

Hey Dan,
I kinda like this 3-times a month check-in schedule. I makes the numbers seem more impressive!
Odometer Check:

(78 Bike / 5 Run / 12 Elliptical / 4 Swim)
Miles Wed, April 11th - Fri, April 20th: 96
(66 Bike / 22 Run / 6 Elliptical / 2 Swim)
Miles Sat, April 21st - Mon, April 30th: 103
(73 Bike / 21 Run / 4 Elliptical / 5 Swim)
Total For April: 298 miles
Personal Monthly Goal: 300
Percent of Month Elapsed: 100%
Percent of 50 Mile Goal Achieved: 596%
Percent of Personal Goal Achieved: 99.33% (So Close - Arrrrrrgh!)
Well, that's it... tri season is here and I've done all that I can do to prepare myself.
My total miles would have topped 300 if I hadn't spent the last two weeks really concentrating on my swim technique & conditioning. See, it recently dawned on me that half way through a 1/2 mile, open water swim, I'll be 1/4 mile out in the middle of a lake with 300 other people around me, flailing about and no where to stop and catch my breath. The swim is easily my weakest event... and I just wanna get through it and on to the bike, not end up in a watery grave!
So, I'm gonna taper my workouts this week to rest up and get ready for Sunday's triathlon.
I'll be sure to post a link to my race report next week. If I survive, that is!
Be Well,
A.J.

Hi guys!
April was a pretty good month for me.....and with my surgery scheduled for June 19th, I'm looking for May to be another great month.

The Cards Fan is back and back with a vengeance!!!! Since double-hernia surgery and gallbladder removal I've been able to kick it up a notch or two. While my motivation and commitment to the gym has not changed a bit, my workouts in the weight room and with cardio have been much more productive. I don't know why. Whether this is simply a state of mind after surgery or is something physical related to the hernias and gallbladder - I guess I'll never know.
Here are my results for the month of April:
April 1 - April 7: 51 miles (15 walk/run + 36 stationary bike)
April 8 - April 14: 51 miles (15 walk/run + 36 stationary bike)
April 15 - April 21: 51 miles (15 walk/run + 36 stationary bike)
April 22 - April 28: 51 miles (15 walk/run + 36 stationary bike)
April 29 - April 30: 17 miles (5 walk/run + 12 stationary bike)
Total miles April: 221 miles (65 walk/run + 156 stationary bike)
Personal Goal for April: 150 miles
Percent of Month elapsed: 100%
Percent achieved towards 50 mile goal: 442%
Percent achieved towards 150 mile goal: 126%
The challenge is now into its second year! Thanks Dan for keeping the challenge alive and helping keep folks accountable to the goals they've set for themselves! You've done a great job - keep up the good work!
Making a commitment to physical fitness is absolutely critical to maximizing results of the surgery and ensuring long-term success. It would be great to see more participation in the challenge and more of the Locker Room putting it on the line for everyone to see!
