Back in the ER
CB,
did they "scan" everything and find no strictures or adhesions?
kp (Kevphil, the jazz guy, who 'used to post here.') is having a very similar issue.
You guys are skewing the stats weekly!
Hope it gets figured out definitively soon.
Sorry about your Dog.
The incapatbility of life-expectancy is always a source of grief.
Best Wishes-
Dx
Hi Dx,
That's true! We're skewing the stats by lowering out body fat levels far more than average. A lot of the RNY work is stapled to the fat surrounding the small intestines, which shrinks and then tears near the staples (one doc told me that I no longer have any substantial fat in my abdomen). If the fat tears, then it no longer provides a support to the small intestine, so they may begin to sag, crimp or twist.
I'm not sure if I understand exactly what the Peterson's Hernia is, but it looks as if some of the relocated piping had become loose and the doc pulled it tight and sutured it to something else. I have pics, but I still can't figure them out.
Best Wishes,
Dav
CB,
sorry you had such a crappy weekend, have you been back to your surgeon? Sometimes OR doctors just aren't equiped to find out whats wrong with us post op.
I really hope that they can get to the bottom of this for you.
Scott
PS I have heard of people who had adhessions that have experienced pains like you described. Unforutnately they did not show up until exploratory surgery was done.
yeah, time for a sit down with my surgeon. the first time he had an ultrasound and checked me out himself in the ER and again at his office and then had an endo and colonoscopy ordered. very thorough. i'll go back and see what he says about this event. thanks.....carbonblob oh, i'll mention the adhessions thing too.
